*** Eid Ul Adha 2019 Announcement ***

WEC Eid Jamat times (sunday, 11th of August InshaAllah – brothers and sisters welcome to both):

1st Eid prayer: 7:30am (Talk starts 7am, by Imam Zain Amir)

2nd Eid prayer: 9:30am (Talk starts 9am, by Hafiz Shafiq Ahmad)

For those planning to attend the Eid jamats, please remember:

1. Parking area adjacent to the Centre building is only for use of the elderly and the disabled.

2. Please do not park in the side streets, use the lower main car park (accessed via Robslee Road opposite Woodfarm High School) and, in case of overflow, the adjacent (extensive) parking facilities of Woodfarm pitches and the local (OLM) Primary School.

3. Do not double park or block drive-ways of our neighbours under any circumstances.

On the day of Eid it is recommended by our Ulema to :

-Wake early for Tahajjud and Fajr
-Perform ghusl
-Wear your best available clothes
-Use Miswak and fragrance
-Eat something sweet before leaving for Eid Salaat
-Have paid Sadqatul Fitr
-Go one way to masjid and return a different way
-When going to Eid Salaat, recite the following takbir softly

الله أكبر ، الله أكبر ، لا إله إلا الله ، والله أكبر ، الله أكبر ، ولله الحمد

Woodfarm Educational Trust

The Woodfarm Educational Trust (W.E.T.) is a registered Scottish charitable company based in East Renfrewshire. The Trust manages the Woodfarm Education Centre (former Woodfarm Sports Centre, 1 Burns Grove, Giffnock, Glasgow G46 7HF), which is the first facility serving the educational, religious, cultural and social needs of East Renfrewshire’s Muslim community in its 40+ year history. The objects of the W.E.C. are two-fold:

 

  • To advance education, culture, heritage and religion for the public benefit among the residents of East Renfrewshire, particularly the Minority Ethnic Muslim Community.
  • To promote religious and racial harmony for the public benefit among the residents of East Renfrewshire.
